When I was a kid I was a huge fan of Football Shirts and always dreamt of having a massive collection of shirts from different teams from around the World but I could never afford them.
Skip 30 years later and I am still a fan of Football shirts, and I still cannot afford to get them brand new however a new craze has hit, hunting for Football shirts at car boot sales and charity shops.
After watching some YouTube videos from the likes of Ellis Patten I instantly was hooked on the idea of going to different car boot sales and charity shops to see what Football shirts I could find to either add to my collection or flip for a profit which would allow me to purchase more shirts.
So this past weekend I decided to hit the high street to see what I could find, below is the collection of shirts that I managed to pick up.
At the very first charity shop, I visited I managed to pick up an SC Internacional 2011 home shirt, it was a size medium and priced at €4, it was made by Reebok and the Brazilian used this shirt during their World Club Cup campaign, if this was in my size I certainly would have added it to my personal collection but as it was not I instead was able to trade this with another shirt collector for a Liverpool 2015 away shirt.
The first English club shirt that I came across was the 2012/13 Chelsea away shirt, it was a size XL but as it was not my beloved Liverpool F.C I was never going to keep this in my personal collection, it was expensive for a charity shop find coming in at €25, however, I was also able to trade this for two Fenerbahce shirts from the 2013 season, unfortunately, the Fenerbahce shirts were a tight fit so I later sold both for €30, which left me with a €5 profit on my original cost.
My next purchase was a Nike PSG X Jordan Breathe Squad shirt, it was in a size extra small and usually, I would avoid the smaller sizes, but I knew that PSG shirts were popular and it was only €5, the colour was also a striking pink which I am personally a fan of, this shirt later sold for €10
Profit: €5
As I mentioned I am a Liverpool fan so if I was not going to keep a Chelsea shirt I certainly was never going to add a Manchester United shirt to my collection, if it was one team that I just knew I would find plenty of shirts of it was Manchester United who has a huge following here in Ireland, and the first United shirt I picked up was the 2008/09 home shirt, it cost only €3 and what I did not know at the time it is a bit of a holy grail shirt for a lot of United fans, I advertised it at €30 and it sold within minutes, so thankfully I did not have a United shirt in my house for too long.
Profit €27
So that was it, my very first football shirt hunt in charity shops was over, I had spent a grand total of €37 and I was able to double my money which means going into next week I have €37 profit to play around and I managed to add a Liverpool FC shirt to my personal collection.
